LOS ANGELES WOMEN'S MARCH

IT WAS A PRIVILEGE TO BE APART OF SUCH A STRONG MOVEMENT YESTERDAY AT THE WOMEN’S MARCH. IN THE MIDST OF THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN & THE LAUSD TEACHER STRIKE SO MANY PEOPLE STILL CAME TOGETHER IN SUPPORT OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS; HUMAN RIGHTS.

WE MARCH FOR FREEDOM OF CHOICE, FREEDOM OF SELF, FREEDOM TO TRULY BE GIVEN EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES NOT ONLY WHEN IT COMES TO OUR RIGHTS AS HUMAN CITIZENS BUT ALSO OUR RIGHTS TO OUR OWN BODIES, MINDS AND POCKETBOOKS. WE SPEAK FOR THE VOICELESS, THE VICTIMS THAT HAVE BEEN SILENCED, THE ONE’S WHO HAVE LOST FAITH AND STRENGTH. WE WILL NOT GIVE UP, WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN, WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.

I AM PROUD OF BEING A WOMAN, AND I AM PROUD OF THE COMMUNITY THAT SUPPORTS NOT JUST WOMEN, BUT EQUALITY FOR EVERYONE.

THE FUTURE IS NOT FEMALE - THE FUTURE IS HUMAN.

I raise up my voice – not so I can shout, but so those without a voice can be heard… we cannot succeed when half of us are held back.
